Kara's Sweet Sixteen

November 3rd, 2004

The birthday girl makes a wish.

"Now make a wish and blow out the candles," said Art to Kara.

"What should I wish for?"

"Anything you want."

"A kitten," whispered Kim.

Kara looked around at her family and friends. Her eyes rested briefly on the boy in the pirate suit and her cheeks blushed pink. "Um…do I have to say it outloud?"

Art shook his head. "Not if you don't want to."

"Okay." Her lips moved silently as she formed her wish and then, taking in a deep breath, she leaned forward and…

Hoorah! All the candles have been blown out.

…blew the candles out.

The transformation begins.

Suddenly, her skin tingled. As her friends and family cheered her on, Kara spun around and jumped into the air. Confetti exploded over her head as her dad pulled the string on a party popper he'd hidden in his pocket.

Kids...they grow up so fast.

And just like that, Kara transformed into a beautiful teenager. Andi blinked her eyes rapidly trying to stem her brimming tears. Kids, she thought, they grow up so fast.

Kara looked down at herself. Woah! The ground seemed so far away. Oh, and look. Soft, squishy things on her chest. Cool! She experimentally tossed her head and smiled. Finally, she had nice long hair. Now that she was almost an adult and could make her own decisions (about most stuff) never would she go back to having short hair.

Art was so pleased. His firstborn was now a beautiful young woman. Oh, no, he thought, how am I going to pay for her college while I'm still working at Everybody's a Weiner. That damn promotion better come through soon. He shook he head getting rid of the distracting thoughts. It was too early to worry too much about college. For now, his greatest wish was for Kara to continue getting excellent grades and to get a part-time job, in short, become the classic overachiever.

John could barely tear his eyes away from Kara. Now that she was a teenager, she reminded him of Belle in that Beauty in the Beast movie that his sister Corrie liked so much. Maybe he'd watch it when he got home.

That is really good and extremly descriptive. I especially like the way you've kept it so entertaining for three pages, many other stories I've read really only say 'Sim X grew up' and have a couple of pictures.

I felt sort of sad  when little Kim asked if her sis would still play with her, cuz I remember thinking just that…But, you did, and still do!:wink: I feel sorry for poor Dad–Hopefully he gets his promotion soon or little Kim might have to go down to Everybody's a Weiner and tell them where they can shove there hot dogs if they don't give her Dad the promotion he deserves.:lol::lol: I can't wait for me to grow up either, so I can be as gorgeous as my older sis!
