First Day at Dolphin House
October 12th, 2004

Neptune and Sea were already at Dolphin House, as the royal refuge had been dubbed, when Marina and Salty finally arrived. Neptune bowed low in greeting before his exiled queen, but she would have none of it. "This is a new life, Neptune. I'm not your queen anymore."
"You'll always be my queen," he said, but cringed inwardly when he realized how silly he sounded. To cover up the awkwardness he suddenly felt, he offered to show the new arrivals their new house.
But Marina wanted to her first impression of her dwelling to be without any commentary so she led the tour. She went to the backyard first because she wanted to view the pool and entertainment area.

Marina was most pleased with her new home. It was very small (at least by her standards) but was cozy enough. And it seemed to have all the necessities for entertaining. She looked around for Neptune to thank him for helping establish Dolphin House, but he had already disappeared inside. With a shrug, she turned on the outdoor stereo to celebrate their arrival.
Salty, not one to waste an opportunity, asked the cute Sea to dance with him. Why hadn't he ever noticed her around the palace?

Leaving the two kids on the deck, Marina wandered inside and found Neptune watching the Yummy Channel. She joined him and they chatted a moment until she noticed someone passing by outside. Knowing this would be a perfect opportunity to make a good first impression, Marina went outside and warmly greeted Dave.
Dave welcomed her to Pirate's Cove. Right away, he noticed her charismatic aura and told her that she should run for public office. "You seem like you'd be a natural."
Marina smiled. She didn't say it out loud, but she thought she'd make a good politician as well. It was her new dream.

Soon three other neighbors arrived: Darren, Nina and Dina. Marina greeted them with the same warmth and then invited her new acquaintances to stay awhile. Nina wanted to see the hot tub and the grounds, so Marina took her in the back way.

Nina loooved the hot tub. So, Marina turned it on and the two women climbed in to relax in the tub. Salty and Darren soon joined them.
Darren asked how long it took to journey from their kingdom of Poseidonis to Pirate's Cove. His question gave Marina a perfect excuse to recount her and Salty's travelling adventures.

Meanwhile, Neptune was preparing a meal to serve Marina's guests. He wished he could make something a bit more grand, but he was new to cooking (it was never one of his duties at the palace) and wanted to make something that he knew would turn out well.

He even whipped up a simple but elegant gelatin. Everyone likes gelatin, right? Well, actually, he didn't. It seemed to get a skin-like layer wherever it had touched the mold. But then, he didn't really have time to eat it anyway.

Sea was disgusted by her father's servitude. She thought he should stand up to Marina. He shouldn't have to serve a disposed ruler. Not that Sea offered to help him though. She refused to serve anyone.

Marina thoroughly enjoyed Neptune's meal. Even the gelatin was excellent. Some of the guests raised their eyebrows a bit at Marina's apparent lack of manners (one would think that ex-royalty would be a bit more proper) but they didn't have the guts to make a comment.

Ooh, exciting! You're an excellent writer. Poor Neptune, he's got quite a challenge ahead of him. And Sea and Salty are cute together!

Absolutely wonderful! I love this family. Do you plan to upload them any time soon? They would make great additions to my "gene pool" so to speak. I have a neighborhood full of abnormal sims! ^_^

Mizumi: Hi! I'm glad you like the Kelps so far! 🙂 I'm not sure if I will upload them though since they use a customized skin color that I got from The Sims Resource. I don't feel comfortable uploading characters that use a skin color (or other customized item) that you would otherwise have to pay a subscription to get. Actually, I'm unsure as to what the etiquette is for that.

Oh, well I can completely understand where you're coming from with that. But personally, I don't think that TSR should be charging for TS2 items already. Anyhow, even if you don't upload them I look forward to the next installment!

Hey! I found where you got the skin tone downloaded but couldn't find where you got the eye shape and color. Were they downloads or on the Sims2?
