First Day at Dolphin House

October 12th, 2004

Neptune cleans up.

After making yet another round of sandwiches for the apparently famished guests, Neptune cleaned up the kitchen. Sighing, Neptune sat at the bar and, glad for a quiet moment by himself, quickly ate a sandwich. He wondered if this was what everyday would be like.

Let's go swimming!

After waiting twenty minutes after she ate, Sea decided to try out the swimming pool. Salty and Dina joined her. The pool was fun but Sea already missed her ocean home. As Sea was climbing out of the pool she realized something smelled like wet dog. Was it Dina?

A thousand times no, Sea!

Neptune had just managed to grab a relaxing soak in the hot tub when Sea wanted to talk to him. Apparently, she wanted to go out and explore the nightlife of Pirate's Cove. But Neptune refused. This was their first night in town and they were going to spend it as a family. Sea begged and begged hoping to wear him down, but Neptune remained adamant.

A moody Sea.

Sea went inside hoping to get some commiseration from her housemates. But, instead, Salty teased her for wanting to go out. It was a good-natured tease—all in fun. But, being a bit oversensitive from her fight with her dad, Sea took Salty's words too seriously. She was especially hurt because she didn't want Salty to think she was just a "silly girl."

Get away from me!

Trying to comfort the mopey Sea, Dave offered a hug. But Sea misinterpreted his genuine concern and called him a "pervy old guy." Neptune witnessed the exchange and and told her it was time for bed. Sea shot her father a withering look then trudged up the stairs. After glancing around to see if anyone would miss him, Salty followed her upstairs.

The stink is coming from Dina.

Marina realized it was getting late and went around thanking her guests for welcoming her household to the neighborhood. Dave was waiting to say goodbye to Marina when Dina walked in from the pool. Peeyoo! thought Dave. Dina was one stinky woman. It looked like Marina was breaking up the gathering just in time. That girl really needed to take a shower.

Neptune pines over Marina.

The guests were gone and Neptune breathed a sigh of relief. He was bone-tired. He headed to his bedroom and reviewed the day. The new duties he'd taken on—cooking and cleaning—were a lot of hard work. He didn't mind doing them, but he didn't think they would make Marina see him as anything but a servant. What should he do to make her see him as a person…a man?

A little flirtin' never hurt anyone.

Salty stopped Sea in the upstairs hall and apologized for teasing her. "That's okay," said Sea. "I was being too sensitive." She smiled shyly at him.

Realizing that this cutey was interested in him, Salty turned on the charm. He noticed her cheeks flush a pretty pink and he heard his heart pounding in his ears. He was just wondering if he should kiss her when a footstep sounded behind him. Marina winked at him and slipped into her room. The mood was ruined, but Salty was still stoked. He said goodnight to Sea and went to his room.

Sweet dreams, Sea.

Sea fairly skipped to her room. Her heart was still pounding from Salty's flirtatious attention. She didn't even care anymore that she had to share a room with her father. Sea climbed into bed and pulled the covers over her, but sleep was long in coming. She couldn't stop thinking about what might have happened if Marina hadn't interrupted.

I was so inspired by your blog that I made one of my own! You have done a GREAT job here…looking forward to seeing your stories. 🙂

Absolutely wonderful! I love this family. Do you plan to upload them any time soon? They would make great additions to my "gene pool" so to speak. I have a neighborhood full of abnormal sims! ^_^

  7. Kara says:

Mizumi: Hi! I'm glad you like the Kelps so far! 🙂 I'm not sure if I will upload them though since they use a customized skin color that I got from The Sims Resource. I don't feel comfortable uploading characters that use a skin color (or other customized item) that you would otherwise have to pay a subscription to get. Actually, I'm unsure as to what the etiquette is for that.

  8. Mizumi says:

Oh, well I can completely understand where you're coming from with that. But personally, I don't think that TSR should be charging for TS2 items already. Anyhow, even if you don't upload them I look forward to the next installment!

Hey! I found where you got the skin tone downloaded but couldn't find where you got the eye shape and color. Were they downloads or on the Sims2?
