Sim Julian (1 of 5)

You guys will be glad to know that I'm working hard on the next chapter of "The Monster and the Maiden" (at least I hope you will! 😳 ). I needed another Sim to play a small part in an upcoming scene so I decided make my rock star character (and ball-joint doll) Julian Nomad into a Sim.

I think Sim!Julian turned out to be a fairly good likeness to his BJD-counterpart. And yes, there's a reason he has bite marks on his neck. Can you guess who put them there?

I love Julian so much, I wish he could appear in more of the story. However, I did go a bit crazy with taking pictures of him. I have one more set featuring Edmond and him that I'll be posting soon (Julian decided that he wanted to put on an impromptu concert and who am I to say "no" to him? haha).

    Gorgeous. Can I just say that I'm relieved my World's Apart withdrawal angst will soon be over? (only to be rekindled when I'm done reading that chapter and have to wait for the chapter after it?)

    oolongteadrinker: Thank you! Yes, it's way past time for me to put out a new chapter. I had been concentrating on my dolls the last few months, but Edmond was getting very insistent that I come back and work on his story.

    HydraKitten: I will definitely be making a wallpaper of him as I want him on my desktop too. haha Currently the BJD-version of Julian is my wallpaper. BTW, are you the Hydra Kitten on DoA with the incredible dolls (Sard, Sabik, Onyx, Genji, and Ryu)?

    Anyway, I think Edmond enjoyed him. 😉 I really wish Julian had a bigger part in the story. I follow his story more on my BJD site. I've started a photostory with him, Tahlvin and Ethyn (another one of my dolls). I'll be linking to it from this site as soon as it's posted so you can learn a bit more about Julian's character, if you want.

    Hi Kara 🙂 I just can't believe how you can make such beautiful sims! Mine look nowhere near yours 😆 … And those Ball-joint dolls er pretty cool too, actually I'd never heard of them before just now, but I'm pretty interested in them 🙂 Where can I buy them?

    Can't wait to see more of Edmond, Kara. I am dying to see what happens next. Julian is pretty darn close to his real life counterpart.

    Beth: I knew you and Gayle would appreciate the rock star. 😉 And, thank you so much. The Julian sim is actually based on my Lord Carfax sim that I made awhile ago. It's amazing what a change of CC and a few facial tweaks can do.

    Trine: Hi! You can actually buy BJDs from many sites on the web. Most of the dolls come from Korea, Japan or China. I recommend checking out my FAQ on my doll site if you'd like to learn more about them. Let me know if you ever have any more questions. 🙂

    BanSidhe: haha! Yeah, and once you get started collecting them, you can't just get one. They will at least need a friend. 😮

    I'm excited for you all to see the next chapter too. It should explain in a bit more detail some of the things that have been going on.

    So Julian IS based on Lord Carfax. The shape of Julian's chin and lips instantly reminded me of Carfax's. And I may sound like your crazy stalker while saying that so I shall elaborate: I know Carfax face structure well cause I modified him for my game a week ago and in the end mostly modified his chin and jaw line, as they were slightly too thin for the hair I chose.
    Smexy tatoos btw 😯

    Maybe Julian can appear in an alternate universe story, maybe a one shot story focused on him? *poke* 😛
    (and you'd have to make a sim version of Viktor too, which could be interesting 😉 )

    Dektora: I'm honored that you used Lord Carfax as a base to make a sim. 🙂

    One of my flickr friends suggested that I get the BJD Julian a tattoo sleeve like the sim Julian. I think it's a great idea!

    And, good idea about the one shot story! I'll see if I can't think something up and try to link it to the BJD photostory I've started. And, Viktor…yummy! I wonder if I can adequately make him into a Sim?

    I'm letting go of my Genji and replacing him with an Akando Pierrot. That delicious tanned body is just too hot for me to resist! With all my pretty boys, it's nice to have one buffed up guy in the house :wink:. Speaking of which, is your gorgeous Akando already based on a sim or will there be a sim version of him?

    I have to say that Lord Carfax has made an appearance in my 'hood. His new name is Jeremy Arden and he is well appreciated by the ladies in his townhouse complex.

    Hydrakitten: You're going to love Akando! I adore my Viktor. Just a gorgeous doll, gorgeous skin, gorgeous muscles…yum! But, no, I don't have a Viktor sim yet. Like Julian, his character was fully developed as a bjd first. But, in a post above, Dektora gave me the great idea to do a one shot story with Julian in the sims. I thought it would be fun to make a sim of Viktor and add him to the story. He is Julian's bodyguard… 😉

    Trine: Actually, acrylic paint, pastel chalk (oil-free), watercolor pencils, watercolor paint or a combination of any of these are used to do BJD face-ups. Water-based materials are the key. Anything with oil in it should be avoided, which rules out human make-up. An art fixative, called MSC Flat (Mister Super Clear) is used to seal the face-up. In-depth guides to doing face-ups can be found on the Den of Angels forum in the workshop section. 🙂

    OMG! Julian is amazing and I love his story on your BJD site.
    You have a thing for men with a questionable sexual orientation don't you? It must be said that it makes for some good sideline plots! Maybe Julian could have a slight character adjustment in your sim story, I have a feeling about him 😆

    And gaaaaah :XO: does Edmond look sexy or what?! Eeeeep!
    I nearly called him Edward then, too much Twilight circulating within the blood flow to my brain 😛

    Oh and I agree Julian does look like an edited Lord Carfax…I'll admit to have downloaded and included him in my legacy of sims 🙂 He makes beautiful children.

    Cadie: haha I never thought of that before, but it seems you may be right! 😉 I guess in my head I know exactly what their sexual orientation is so it doesn't seem like an unknown to me.

    I'm so glad you've got some use from Lord Carfax. I've found that he's very versatile.
