Jinx!

January 29th, 2007

I think I jinxed myself when I claimed in my last post that I would have chapter one ready to post in about a week. I've had nothing but problems taking pictures for this chapter. I was very frustrated by the end of last week and took the weekend off to play around with the new World of Warcraft expansion—The Burning Crusade—with my husband. We had so much fun! I'd missed playing the game with him.

Anyway, I just wanted to touch base and let you know I was still around. Hopefully I will find a solution or some sort of compromise for my picture problems this week. I definitely won't be making the mistake of giving another deadline. I don't want to double-jinx my self!

OK, Kara. That's absolutely fine. With me, anywho. I think that sometimes it's good to take a break from the Sims, and do something esle that you enjoy.

I can wait. You enjoy yourself! 😀 I hope your problems clear up soon!

  2. Mao says:

I agree. I've been taking a break from The Sims 2 to play Guild Wars: Nightfall with my boyfriend. I haven't played in so long, I missed playing with him. 😀

If it is frustrating and not fun, then it's best to just step away and do something else. As much as we all want to read, I'd rather it be fun for you, too… and not a bothersome mess!

  3. Taryn says:

Its cool, I'm really enjoying this story so I can wait. I know how it goes as I have my own blog to and sometimes do the same thing. Hee hee, such is life. I see your into world of warcraft, cool, my husband and myself are into guildwars. I just love those type of games.

  4. Choco says:

I've been wanting to play WoW too. It seems like so much fun. Everyone seems to rant and rave about it.

Take your time. It's better to come back to something of your own will than feeling like it's an obligation. Have fun with WoW!

  5. Decorgal says:

Heehee. That's why I don't announce I'm working on anything on my blog until it's pretty much finished and I'm just polishing stuff up. 😉 I've learned the hard way that it's rare for me to release stuff on time if I put myself on a schedule. Anywho, hope the screenshots work out soon. 🙂

Hi. My husband and I got the Burning Crusade too, the night that it came out. It's been fun to play together, we have been playing WOW for over a year. What servers do you play on? We play mostly on Earthen Ring, an RP server.

  7. Kara says:

Thank you all for your understanding! I knew I could count on you to lift my spirits!

Amalinaball: I hope the problems clear up too. It's mostly the lighting that I've been having problems with. It's frustrating when the vision you see in your head isn't being realized on the screen.

Mao: My husband and I have played Guild Wars before when we were taking a break from WoW. It's a beautiful game. We never got very high though. I think we managed to get to about level 25 in the base game. We haven't tried Nightfall but we did play around with Factions. I love the music from the game as well.

Taryn: I love MMOs too. I think the thing I love most about them is that they're a game that my husband and I can play together. I have fun doing the quests with him. We make a pretty good duo. 😉

Decorgal: I thought I had learned my lesson from times before, but apparently not. 😉 I think I just got too excited. haha

Azrielle: My husband and I have been playing WoW since it first came out two years ago. Gosh…has it really been that long? Granted, I took about a six month break from it but Burning Crusade managed to drag me back in. 🙂 Before Burning Crusade, most of our characters were on Shadow Council (an RP server) but we started our new characters on Nordrassil (a newly opened PVE server, which is actually fun though strange to play on because there aren't very many people on it).

I totally know what you mean with the jinxing… anytime I promise something even if it is just an email it always ends up that I get inundated with work and can't write. So don't worry… we will be waiting here patiently for your next chapter (well I have to admit semi-patiently cause I am really excited to read it but it is not semi-patient in a bad way). Bah… did that even make any sense =).

Hi. Isn't it annoying when something on the computer doesn't work the way it should?.

Why don't you take your anger on this game at http://www.i-am-bored.com and when you get there type Bust Computer in the search bar.

All right so you're beating up a virtial computer but at least it will get rid of the urge to throw your real computer out of the window.

I really hope that the lighting problem will be fixed soon as I am rally looking forward to reading the next chapter.

In the mean time enjoy playing World of warcraft I've never heard of it but it sounds interesting.

    Keep Simming!

    See ya later

January must be sims 2 jinx month, as I finnally found the motivation to make a decent movie, but have already re-install my game twice in the last 3 weeks. And it stopped working again last thursday. Grrrrr!
I wish you better luck on your lighting problem, and hope you'll get the pics to look close enough to the image your brain had created. Meanwhile, we'll wait for that exiting first chapter 😉

  11. Bunnisteffi says:

Oh well. I shall wait. I've heard of some people who actually take a week's leave off from work(and staying in their rooms 24/7)just to play the Burning Crusade. I haven't been touching my own sims too, for the matter. I guess I will. Tomorrow's February, anyway. Hopefully the month will not be jinxed. Happy playing!

  12. Jenny says:

Thats okay Kara….taking breaks from the sims is necessary I think……I do it often..besides Seasons is coming out in a month and that will probably bring you right back into it!….we are patient….((HUGS))

  13. E. Black says:

I've taken a break from TS2 also to play Final Fantasy XII (which won't let me get away from the hotness that is Balthier). I was supposed to be writing myself, but I haven't been. But it's good to know that you're doing good and I'm a patient person, so take your time getting back into the swing of TS2.

  14. Pandora Moon says:

Hi. I thought that I would put a more simple link in for that game I mentioned in my last comment.

    Here it is http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=12986

I hope that your computer problems will be fixed soon.

    See ya later

  15. Mandie says:

Hehehe, I play WoW too, and I also love the Burning Crusade! Unfortunately, my husband is hooked on FFXI so we don't get to play together! But I can understand how there would be no time left for the sims! But I am eagerly awaiting chapter 1!

  16. *Evil_Kara* says:

Fine with me good story, worth waiting for. New discoverer of this site. Pardon my few months late comment. By the way my name is Kara also. Creepy aint it. -_-' WOWitis dangerous you know but oh so fun its all my guy friends talk about that, …and Spartans. Doh >_

  17. Tammy G. says:

    Kara,

I'm wondering if you come to this site anymore. Thats too bad, because I thought the beginning of "Worlds Apart" very good.

Will you really do an update? I've been coming here for quite a while now.

Anyway… Could you please leave a comment, so we'll know whether your alive, and if you seriously will be continuing "Worlds Apart"?

I think it would be very kind of you to let us all know, one way or the other. As to not leaving us hanging.

Not meaning to be rude, but I'm termanally ill, and I don't like to waste my time, if you get my drift. 😉

Reading your finished story is on my "To-do" list. But a yeah or nay, is cool for me.

    Take care.

  18. Kara says:

Tammy: I'm sorry to hear about your illness.

Yes, I still come to the site. And, yes, I'm still working on the story. In fact, I actually have half the pictures for the next chapter done. As to when it'll finally be finished, I don't know. I know I've been horrible with keeping people updated about the state of things. I don't know why it's taking me so long to work on this. It's very frustrating that I'm so goddamn slow at everything. It probably is a big waste of time, but well, whatever.

  19. Tammy G. says:

    Dear Kara,

Thank you for replying so fast.:)

I've started my first story ever, at MTS2's sister site. So I'm getting to know what you mean, lol.
Also, I'm sure you're working, where I am on disability, so I have more time, ironically.

I thought I could never do something like this, but I'm throwing caution to the wind now on. Thinking what do I have to lose, right?

Please don't be frustrated at yourself. Or that its a waste of time, because it isn't for your many fans.;)
Seriously, I found your stories magical, to say the least.

Yet you need only to do this if it brings you joy. That's what really matters isn't it?

So just ask yourself if your really into doing this anymore? If not, then your not happy, perhaps you need to stop.

Because of my energy level, I'll do the best I can. Otherwise I'm stuck in the fear of doing it.
However, what I really need right now, is to be fear-less.
Hence, the reason I got the courage to post to you.

Please. Don't believe I'm judging you in any way. Cause, I'm in no position to do that.

Anyways. I will keep returning, until you decide.

Oh, I just thought of something…
Have you considered posting you story on another site? Maybe that would take off some of the pressure.

    I salute you!

    ~Tammy G.

Hey sweetie, hope you're having tons of fun playing with your hubby. I've been doing the same thing but with Hero Online another MMORPG. It's been a kick being able to take a rest and spend time with James too. 😀 Know what? Don't push yourself to update it will seem rushed if you do. Just know that your fans well know that your offerings are more then worth the wait. Take your time and have fun because never forget that this is first and foremost a hobby not a 24/7 job. ^_^

  21. Bunnisteffi says:

You last posted in April! That goes me some hope that you're gonna update. Hurray! (Can be taken as 'hurry', too) I'd almost fogotten your site's name… almost missed out the 'space' in http://www.atmoicSPACEkitty.com. Hahas. Hope to see tthe next chapter soon!

  22. BUNNISTEFFI says:

Where ARE you? Please, please, please post something! Even if it isn't anything! Show us that you're alive!
