Sims 3 Tales, Part 1
July 11th, 2009
In an attempt to move things along a little faster, Katriss invited Ransom back to her house one night to watch TV and perhaps make out a little. Ethyn was fast asleep so everything should have been safe.
But, apparently not.
(Seriously, the "cuddle" action hadn't started when Ethyn leaped out of bed and came out to glare at Katriss, a broken heart icon above his head. I could have sworn that in the Sims 2 that you could have a sim make out with someone else as long as their significant other was in another room. Or am I remembering wrong?
Anyway, this is the action that precipitated my change in story. No matter what I did afterwards, Ethyn and Katriss would always insult each other and their relationship deteriorated very quickly. It became impossible to make them friends again without cheating.)
Ethyn left the house in a huff and went downtown to try to cool off. Katriss took advantage of the situation and invited Ransom to her bed. Luckily, they got to woohoo before the dawn dissolved Ransom into mist.
(You can barely see the mist. I didn't know what was happening at first. By the time I'd figured it out, it had almost all disappeared; hence, the sucky screen capture. But, doesn't she look wistful here? Kind of sad.)
But a ghost wasn't the only thing Katriss had brought back from the graveyard. She also brought two mysterious gnome statues that she found while skulking through the mausoleum's catacombs.
(These guys were so funny. Every morning around 5AM or so, they would change positions and teleport to different locations around the lot. Unfortunately, they seem to be broken now and haven't moved in quite awhile. Totally sucks! It was fun trying to find them each morning. Does anyone know how to get them to work again?)
Katriss and Ethyn continued to try to mend their broken relationship—Ethyn, a tried a bit more than Katriss—but things remained tense in the household. Even so, they continued to live together as both were saving up to afford a bigger house.
Meanwhile, Ethyn achieved his dream of becoming a Star News Anchor and, shortly thereafter, Katriss became Emperor of Evil. Her first act was to hold the world hostage-successfully, I might add. (The red glow is her evil aura. It intermittently appears around her.)
However, Katriss had something even more exciting happen to her…
(To be continued in the next post)

Yup I got curious too and recently purchased the Sims 3. Unfortunately my ancient computer's graphic card will not support the game :vangry: So it will be awhile til I can play.
Glad to see you're still alive and on the Sims! Lol I went back recently and re-read all the old Worlds Apart and Alternate stuff. Good memories… thanks for the update!

I have the sims and have made a legacy myself on it. I just don't like how sim children look a little like frogs (if you know what I mean) and the options for hair and clothes are scarce! I can't wait for the custom content to arrive, there are a few things floating around, but I twitch in anticipation while waiting! I suppose the game is still new, so I'm not going to get pushy!

What you've done with the TS3 sims is pretty amazing. You've managed to temper that balloon animal look they all seem to have.
I remember getting extremely bored with the TS2 gameplay. Sort of doubt I'll spend $$ I don't have right now to get TS3 for gameplay alone, and that seems to be all it's really good for right now. I do lust after the landscaping, but better to walk outside and look at the actual trees than buy something I doubt I'd use much :).
thanks for doing this!

You've actually managed to make them look a lot less like balloon animals! They look good!
I'm not going to put the $$ into something I can use only for gameplay – can't justify it – but it's interesting to see what people are doing with it.
Thank you for doing this and taking the time to share general perceptions about how useful TS3 is, well at least for now!

@Chelsea, I'm sure she'll work on it when she's ready. Patience is a virtue.
@Kara, I still haven't purchased the game. I'm probably one of the few people who probably won't. I'll live vicariously through everyone else who is playing it. I'm too spoiled by TS2.
