Why Food Poisoning Sucks
November 11th, 2004
Art stopped Andi as she exited the bathroom. "I think Kim will be okay. She doesn't have a fever."
"Hmm…Okay, I'll keep an eye on her today and call the doctor if she gets worse."
"Well, my carpool is here. I better get going." Art leaned forward and kissed Andi.
Andi giggled pulling gently on one of the button pins that was attached to his work uniform. "Very cute, dear."
Art rolled his eyes. "Don't remind me. With any luck I'll be promoted soon." And with that, he ran downstairs and out the front door.
Andi knocked gently on Kim's bedroom door and eased it open. Kim was sitting on her bed reading a book, she looked up as her mom entered.
"How are you feeling, honey?"
Kim shrugged. "A little better. My tummy doesn't hurt as much."
"Would you like me to read you a story? Maybe that will help you feel better." Andi knelt by the bookshelf next to the door and pulled off a book that had been Kim's favorite when she was a toddler.
"Yeah!" Kim scrambled off her bed and sat on the floor.
Andi came over to sit in front of her and started the story. She read until she noticed Kim's eyelids getting heavy then she closed the book. "Okay, that's all for now. I think it's time for a nap."
Kim didn't bother arguing. She could barely keep her eyes open. Her mom helped her change into her pajamas then she crawled into bed. "Wake me up for Tom and Jerry, okay?"
Andi kissed Kim's forehead. "All right. Sweet dreams now."
Even though she was now a teenager, Kara was pleased to find out that she hadn't left her brains behind when she grew up. In fact, she received yet another A+ on an essay that she'd handed in today entitled "High Fidelity, Low Anxiety: Lounge Music, the Coolest Music on Earth, Daddy-O."
She ran straight into the house to share her news. Andi was reading in the living room.
"Hey, Mom! Look!" Kara thrust the essay at Andi who took it and looked it over with a smile on her face.
"Wonderful, honey! I knew you'd do well."
Kara knelt down to set tomorrow's homework on the carpet then stood up again to look at her mom. "Um, I was wondering if we could go downtown and buy me some new clothes? I got that money the other day from my uncles and I thought I could use it to buy some stuff."
"I'd love to, but I have to go to work soon." Andi paused for a moment, thinking. "Why don't you go by yourself. You're old enough now. Just be back by seven, okay?"
Kara bit her lip. The thought of going downtown by herself made her nervous. "Really?"
"You'll be fine, Kara. It'll be fun!"
For the first time in her life, Kara called the taxi. It was a little weird, it was such a grown up thing to do and she still felt like a child sometimes. But, it was also rather cool.
"Where to?" the cabbie asked as she climbed in the taxi.
"Pirate's Cove Shopping Center, please," said Kara. According to Mom, there was a sale going on there. So, with the money from her uncles and the extra spending money that Mom had given her, Kara hoped she'd be able to pick up a couple of outfits and some new underwear.
The cab raced down the hill into town as Kara snuggled into the cab's seat and envisioned herself in some clothes she'd seen in Teen Magazine.
Art got home just as his wife was heading out the door to catch her carpool to work. "How's the kid doing?"
"She slept most of the day but she hasn't thrown up again so hopefully she's all better now. I left her in front of the TV. Tom and Jerry is on."
"Dad!" Kim stood in the doorway of the house still in her pajamas.
"Looks like someone is more important than Tom and Jerry," said Andi as she gave Art a quick kiss. "I'll see you later, honey."
Art laughed and waved goodbye to Andi as she climbed into the awaiting car. Kim came running down the walkway, her pigtails bouncing as she ran. Art smiled. "How're you doing, Mouse?"
Kim hugged her dad. "I'm feeling better." She stepped back and a crossed her arms across her chest. "Did they give you a new job yet? Or do I have to go down to Everybody’s a Wiener and tell them where they can shove their hot dogs?"
Art's jaw dropped then he barked in laughter. "Who taught you to talk like that?"
Kim shrugged. "I heard you and Mom talking about your job last night. You said you show them where they could shove—"
"Ah…I see. Well, as a matter of fact, I did get the job. You're looking at the newest waiter at Everybody's a Wiener."
Kim cheered.
"Okay, Mouse. Why don't you go get changed and you can help your ol' dad make something for dinner."

I know, when Kim was visiting at the Brokes and I saw her take a plate of the pancakes and I was yelling at her to "Stop!" lol I even had Brandi call her over so I could get to cancel the action. I thought I had caught her before she ate any pancakes but apparently I hadn't. 😳 I'm glad she's all better now.

i've had Sims eat bad food but not enough to make them throw up yet.
i'm glad Kim got better (even though she had to throw up a few times). Kara's a cutie!!! i'm sure she'll have lots of boys after her. 🙂

I hate it when sims eat rotten food at other people's homes. It happens far too often for my liking. At the moment I've got one an NPC ill, which sucks cause I can't play them to cure it.
NB: Never believe the thing in the corner about 'your sim is well' I had a sim die from a cold about 2 hours after it said she was well. And she was almost completly full in all needs.

Wow, that toilet (afterwards) looked really nasty. 😆 It looks like she is feeling better by the end though. I am glad. So far I have been rather lucky. None of my sims have been sick…other than pregnancy. Whew!

Poor Kim, I'm glad she's better now 😀 I want her to grow up and date that nice Beau lad. And Kara should try to get Alex, what if John grew up and went for another girl? I wouldn't risk it, Kara! 😉
