Warning: NSFW

snatched from S.B. and Gayl

And now it's Tahlvin and Brandee's turn to be examined. A little word of warning, a couple of the pictures are a little risqué, but these characters did start out in an erotica story so I had to incorporate a sample of that into their mosaics. There might also be a double-entendre thrown into the mix. Can you find it? πŸ˜‰

I should explain that Tahlvin was born in Seattle back in 1900, at the tail end of the Klondike Gold Rush (during which Tavia, his mother, and Koryll, his father, got reacquainted). So, that's why the caption to the picture that I used as his birthplace is titled "Seattle – gateway to the Klondike". I thought a long time about using an actual photo of Seattle circa 1900, but Tahlvin has always struck me as being very modern (he readily adopts the fashion and customs of whatever era he's in) so I decided to go with the picture of present day Seattle instead.

Photo Mosaic: Tahlvin

1. Dark Elf warrior, 2. Seattle – gateway to the Klondike, 3. Fugu Sashimi, 4. Black on Black Redux, 5. Isolated thunderstorm, 6. Un verre de brandy ?, 7. Russia, 8. Valrhona Bittersweet (70%) Chocolate, 9. mercenary, 10. my daughter, 11. Intense, 12. Handcuffs*

*About the handcuffs, Tahlvin likes to use them, not have them used on him (he was traumatized by this photo shoot)

Photo Mosaic: Brandee

1. brandy, 2. Seattle Subterranean Bus Tunnel, 3. clam chowder, 4. White tranquillity, 5. Snow Bird, 6. Tea, 7. Estes Park–Chalet, Snow, 8. Milkshake, 9. Curator's Eye: Maxfield Parrish, 10. being submissive, 11. quiet moments…, 12. Down The Rabbit Hole

Additional Notes:
Phew. I must say that, while Tahlvin's mosaic came together fairly easily, Brandee's was so hard! It was like pulling teeth. I have to say "quiet" certainly does describe her.

I have one other mosaic completed but I'm not sure I can show it yet without spoiling something. Putting it together was extremely helpful in rounding out a character that wasn't quite as detailed as I wanted. However, now I'm kind of scared of him. He's really damn dark and disturbing. Yikes!

Anyway, I'm not done with this exercise yet. But I'll be taking a break from it so that I can finish up some other projects. I want to get those behind me so that I can focus on The Monster and the Maiden more. After that, maybe I'll be able to show you the scary mosaic that I can't show you yet. πŸ˜‰

These were perfection! Knowing what I know about these two and their beginnings I think you couldn't have been more descriptive. And I think I picked out the double-entendre with #6 perhaps? LOL!

These two really are naughty and nice…

I was dying to see what you came up with for Tahlvin's name! That is so perfect!

Absolutely appropriate to use the suggestive photos for these two. And I love the way you focus on the dark images for Tahlvin and the white images for Brandee. Just beautiful and completely captures their personalities.

un verre de brandy….cracked me up!!

I find the idea brilliant :XO: A great way to get to know your own characters. Or the characters of other people πŸ˜€ I love how Tahlvin and Brandee complete each other (black vs white, handcuffs vs submissive, etc.).

I've tried it with some of my sims, and the exercise can be tricky sometimes. Favourite food in particular for me. I have imagined the general preferences of my sims, but nothing specific.
Funny thing is how I got influenced by my characters without realising it. Especially in the color tones: Aingeru's is vibrant, Amaya's is softer yet colorfull, Jools is all over the place (even has a pinch of glitter 😯 ), Eneko is much more toned down but warm and Lenne's (a sim I never posted pics of on Flickr) is grey and rather sad.

I'll check S.B. and Gayl's characters mosaics on my way out

@Gayl: Yep, you got it in one! I was thinking "now, what would Tahlvin like to drink". As soon as I thought of brandy, I started giggling madly. heehee

I really love how their totally different personalities play off each other. They are definitely the most yin and yang of characters.

@S.B.: Oh, man, these two and their sex escapades… πŸ˜‰ I really like the juxtaposition of the dark and light. You can tell that they've influenced each other a little though. For example, Brandee made Tahlvin feel safe enough to display his softer side, which can most readily be seen with his fondness for his daughter, while Brandee's darker sexual urges are brought to the surface by Tahlvin.

@Dektora: I love this exercise! I'm glad you're finding it so useful too. I'd love to see your results.

I have difficulty with the food too. I like food, but when I try to think of something my characters would like, all of the sudden it's like I can't remember any types of food at all. haha!
