The Monster and the Maiden: Can You Hear Me Now?
February 17th, 2010
Author's Note: Last Thursday (February 11), I got a shipping notice from Supiadoll that my newest doll (a Supia Rosy [link not safe for workΓ’β¬βnude doll]) was on her way. When a package is shipped EMS (international express mail service) from Korea, it usually takes at least four days to get here: 2-3 days for travel and 1-2 days for it to clear customs. With President's Day on Monday, I figured that Emily (the Supia Rosy doll) would arrive on Tuesday (February 16).
So, this inspired me to do my little photostory in anticipation of her arrival. It didn't take me long to write up a rough script, then I took all the pictures Friday afternoon (a dark and rainy day that made lighting the scenes a pain in my ass).
As I was sorting through the pictures Friday evening, I decided to take a look at the EMS tracking site and found out that Emily had already made her way through US customs. I was amazed! That meant she had a chance of being delivered on Saturday. I tried not to get my hopes up though and figured she might still get hung up somewhere between LA and Seattle. However, Saturday came and so did Emily. Fastest delivery from Korea ever!
And Emily is everything I hoped she'd be. The Rosy sculpt is perfect for her, I think. It really embodies the essence of her character. I can't wait to show you pictures of her and Edmond together.
I'll leave you with another picture of Edmond just because he fascinates me in his doll form as much as he does in his Sim incarnation:

OMG!!!! I love your photostories… both sims and dolls! The tension between Tahlvin and Edmond was palpable… hilarious the "glares" they exchanged. Good to see nothing's changed there.
And Edmond… *drools* I'm ruining my keyboard. What a perfect surprise! Glad to know you're still alive and doing well. π Definitely worth the wait (as it always is).

I'm astounded at how well the Saint head mould carries off Edmond's character – it's like it was made for him! π― But a lot of the credit must go to you, of course; the way he's been dressed and the way you've posed him is lovely, really well thought out. And of course the dynamics of the relationship between Tahlvin and Edmond were well put-across, I think; that awkwardness of meeting the parents, as it were.
I love the details, like Tahlvin's tattoos and the posters of Julian on the wall. π (It made me snicker to think that Tahlvin is the Hound in the naked pictures, heh. Ironic!) Though I definately have to brush up on my French, I think, to get a handle on all the pet-names and phrases peppered around. (I hope Tahlvin wasn't listening in on their talk – how embarrassing for Emily if he was, lol!)
It's cool you're getting a Supia Rosy; a lot of them seem to be arriving after the latest ordering period, and I've seen a lot of really beautiful takes on the sculpt. Now I can't wait to see what you'll do with her to make your Emily! But I'm babbling now, heh. I loved this little photostory and how it tied into your Sims playing. Beautiful! π

Oh this was wonderful! I especially loved the two shots where Tahlvin was giving the phone back to Edmond. You could see Edmond's expression change in that shot! Absolutely perfect!
They are both excellent embodiments of what I would imagine of the characters to be and I really am looking forward to Emily and Edmond together. Have you done Brandee yet?

wow wow I love this! You hit absolutely the right note with Tahlvin walking into the room in the middle of the conversation (returning you to 'fang face' haha!). Although I know nothing about dolls, the resemblance to Edmond is amazing. Wondering which way the resemblance goes now.

OW HAI need moar EdmondXEmily plz! :XO: When's she coming home?
Man he makes my heart go aflutter, I can't wait till I have my Saint home too. I'm really interested to see him with Emily for a SaintXRosy pairing as they're both sculpts I adore. Tahlvin's an awesome dad too, you can tell how much he loves his little girl.
P.S. Orz, I is wanting those posters for my boy's room since we're big fans of Julian 8D

Good to hear from you again! Love the creativity of this story :XO: Hope you feel better… If it makes you feel any better i'vve been through a rough patch too. First a nasty car wreck (which I wasn't seriously hurt in thank god) that involved my head going through the passenger window π₯ but I'm just thankfully to be alive, since my friend and I should have been killed in that wreck. Now, I'm still getting over that and mono. But reading your stories always gives me something to think about and escape my own hectic reality. Thank you so much, I hope you comtinue to write and feel better π

Oh, no, no, no. It wasn't bad at all. It was freaking spectacular.
I just used the sicky face to emphasis the 'die' thing.
No way, man. You're awesome. :halo:
Sorry for the misconception.
I seem to be doing that alot lately. π

Woot, Emily's in Bordeaux! If I have a resin equivalent in that dimension, she'll be happy to take her and her crew wine tasting π
When I saw Edmond's outfit, first thing that came to my mind was the Aikea Guinea outfit. You did a great job coordinating the sim and doll wardrobe. And I'm always amazed by all the cute tiny accessories for your dolls.
It's nice to see Edmond and Tahlvin again! π

Kara,
Just a great story. I love Edmond's accent!!!! Can he come visit? (hee hee)
I think the reason the guys don't get along is that there is too much hunkiness in one room.
Love,
Auntie πΏ
