The Kelps Around Town
November 10th, 2004
Earlier in the day, Sea had called her dad's cell phone to see if she could go home with a friend after school. He gave his permission not realizing Sea would be going to the house of a cute boy that she had her eye on.
So, Sea ended up going home with Josh Hillock. They'd been flirting all week at school making her forget about her crush on Salty. Human boys were just so…exotic!
After they got off the bus, Josh pulled her to him in a clumsy embrace. Moving slowly, to give her time to pull away if she wished, Josh lowered his lips toward hers. Sea closed her eyes in anticipation.
It was her first kiss and it was even better than she dreamed it would be. She almost expected to hear the swell of orchestra music as his soft lips pressed against hers. She had to remind her self to resume breathing as he drew away.
"Will you…um…that is…please, gosteadywithme?" Josh said the last part in a rush as if afraid his courage would fail him.
Sea's heart lept with excitement. "Yes," she said, nodding enthusiastically.
They hugged each other tightly.
Marina's feet hurt and she was hungry again. This is my last house for today, she promised herself. Ahead of her, on the sidewalk in front of a little red house, Marina saw a shock of blue hair. Was that Sea? Whatever was she doing here?
She walked closer and saw that Sea was wrapped in the arms of a human boy. Hmm…Salty wasn't going to be too happy about this when he found out. Of course, knowing her son, he'd get over quickly once he cast his line for some other fish. Salty had roving eyes so it was just as well that Sea was interested in someone else.
Stifling a laugh, Marina stopped behind the young couple who were seemingly oblivious to the world around them. "Oh, Sea! Imagine finding you here. I'm glad you changed your mind about helping me to campaign. I see you're making a good impression on our neighbors."
Sea jerked out of Josh's arms and turned to face Marina. Her cheeks were flaming red. "Marina! You won't tell dad about this, will you?"
Josh rubbed his neck and looked sheepishly at Marina.
"Me? No. But you will."
Sea's eyes widened. "But he'll kill me."
"I'm sure he won't. You're father is very open-minded. Now…introduce me to your friend."
Sea introduced Josh and then the rest of the Hillock family of whom Marina had already met Dave. After handing out her pamphlets and encouraging them to vote for her in the coming election she and Sea headed for home.
They walked silently most of the way but just as Dolphin House came into view at the end of the street, Sea said, "You know, my dad really likes you."
Marina looked at Sea who was studying her with a guarded expression, then said, "I know."
"Do you like him?"
"How would you feel about it if I did?"
Sea shrugged. "I'm cool with it. Dad really needs to date or something. If he's busy with you then it'll be easier for me to date." She grinned mischievously.
Marina laughed. "I'll see what I can do then."

Yay, another story! 🙂 It's great to read about the Kelps again, and especially cool to see them mingle with the other inhabitants of Pirate's Cove. I also love all of the budding romances. And you know I'm a big fan of Neptune! Rowr! I can't wait to see what happens with him and Marina.

Hey, by the way (as I don't play sims, this may be a stupid question), but what is up with those thinking caps with the light bulb:?::???:
November 10th, 2004 at 8:43 pm
The thinking caps are one of the rewards that Sims can purchase with points that they gain through fulfilling their aspirations (for example, getting an A+ at school, making out with 3 Sims, etc.). The caps double the rate at which they build skills.

Again an amazing story and update! The pictures are all great quality. Do you take you're them with the printscreen button or do you use 'C' ingame?

Aner-Dyfan: Thank you! I take the picture ingame with the "C" button. I take them at highest quality and largest size. Then I reduce them in size (from 600×450 to 490×368) and "sharpen" the image to get rid of the blurriness that can happen when an image is made smaller. That's all! 🙂

I'm still laughing. Great story! I haven't seen any Sims fight yet. I'm not a mean person or anything, but it's funny to see the pics. Can't wait for a cat-fight to break out in my house.
