Just wanted to say that I've had no problems with bon voyage what so ever. I know that the problems have been very diffrent for different people and apparently there are alot of bugs. I love bon voyage, both the animations and all the new interactions. There's also alot of new cool things to explore and I'm not half way through all the new features yet.
I have Radiance Light installed (can't seem to play without anymore) and I have had no bugs or problems at all. Well I did at first, but that was just cause I forgot to uninstall old InTeen..

I noticed you couldn't find the Hula Hack or Shaklin's walkstyle animators – that's because both creators retired from Simming. But you can still download them at: http://files.sims2graveyard.com/squinge/hula/
and

…in case you were wondering. 🙂
I don't know about the lighting; however, I think Seasons lighting is awesome and as soon as I saw how good it was in my own game, I was very willing to surrender the Radience Light mod. But that's all down to personal preference. 😉 I hope, whatever decision you make, that everything still works hunky-dory. 😀

Kara said: Thanks so much for the links! I had no idea that Sims2Graveyard even existed. I've fixed my FAQ to include the new links.

I have Seasons as well and have continued to play with the Radiance Light mod. It no longer seems to work during the day instead it defaults to the Seasons lighting. But the basegame lights still cast that awesome Radiance Light at night.

It will ask me several times to insert the origianal disk when it is already in the drive before it will boot the game. I am not tech savoy so to use this nodisk mod is beyond me, I do however bypass the launcher though. And I have no idea if it trys to call home, I just disconnect my interent when I play.

Kara said: Thank you for letting me know about your experience with Bon Voyage. 🙂 It seems like the biggest problem so far has been this SecuROM thing. *rollseyes* I wish EA would take it out of the game. It's lame that we all have to find a work around (probably ones that are not really legal) so that we can even play the game.

Even though I bypassed the launcher, I still had the game trying to phone home – which seriously pissed me off.

But I followed directions at MATY and DL'd the nocd exe and now I am happy! The game starts up without a CD! That is wonderful.

I backed myself into a corner because I was redoing all of Thyme with a new terrain and I got BV the day it came out because I wanted to make sure my terrain would accommodate beach lots. Once I had it installed I could not take it out without losing New Thyme because of all the new trees I had in my hood:

So…in the long and terrible end I am now glad I got it but I wish I had waited. So you are in a good position now because you can just install it, and before you play install the nocd exe and boot from that, bypassing the launcher and all will be fine. So go ahead.

And now that I reinstalled and do not ever boot from EA's exe, the game no longer tries to phone home – not once. So it's safe.

Information is power:

Death to EA.

🙂

Oh I do not have Gunmods mod in since seasons, but I have not heard any terrible tales. Why not check his thread at MTS2?

As for bugs, not a one yet. But I have not yet installed any vacation hoods. I would though, NEVER let my Sims learn the new songs and Tai Chi until I found a no autonomy hack because I read everywhere that once they learn they NEVER stop.

What I am using now is the trees, which admittedly are AMAZING and AWESOME, and the Massage table in Victoria Boutique.

Hope this helps.

Jade

Kara said: Hi, Jade! It's wonderful to see you! I've missed Thyme so much. But your picture of New Thyme is awesome. Such a beautiful town and those trees from Bon Voyage are so cool.

Thank you very much for the information. I checked out the MATY post and it was super helpful. I don't feel as scared about installing Bon Voyage now (aside from the normal nervousness of installing a new expansion anyway). Thankfully there is a way to by pass the SecuROM thing. I can't believe EA did that. Well, actually I can, but I wish they hadn't.
